There's
trouble
in Tatertown!
The
Idaho
community
is desperate
for
rain
lest
their
potato
crops
dry
up in
the
fields.
Especially
hard
hit
are
Irish
Tater,
his
wife
Etta
Tater
and
the
Tater
tots:
Sweetpea,
Lyonnaise
and
Chip.
Unless
a solution
is found,
they
will
be forced
to move,
along
with
most
of the
other
farmers
in Taterfield
County.
Seventeen
Young Company actors,
ages 9 to 15, present
this spud-filled melodrama
on May 10th (2pm and
4pm) and 11th (2pm),
2008 on the Main Stage
Theater.
$5 general admission

Auditions
are in two hour slots and
have a max of 14 kids
(actors
MUST BE
9 at the
time of
auditions):
No
prep necessary - we teach. Parents must
stay 15 minutes into the
go. Parents
don't have to come early
for the check-in, but
they should arrive no later
than 10 minutes before
the audition starts in
order to complete forms
and hear our orientation. Yes,
this still
applies to parents who
have been with us before...

parents want specifics
about the projects themselves,

will have the opportunity
to answer questions completely...this
includes specific program
or project info, cost,
schedule, conflicts, teachers,

Artistic
Team
Melissa
Chin-Parker is
TWS’ Artistic
Program Director. She
became a member of TWS in
1987 and resident staff in
1994. In
1995 Melissa began working
to grow the YC Program, and
she is very pleased to have
such talented and dedicated
members returning to lead
the YC programs in 2007. Melissa
is very excited to hand
off many of the responsibilities
of coordinating YC programs & activities
to her friend and colleague,
Susanne Burns,
as TWS’ YC
and Outreach Coordinator,
who will be working closely
with longtime YC director
Donna Federico to provide
consistently excellent
experiences for our actors.
Susanne
Burns returns
to TWS after serving as Melissa’s
assistant & Educational
Management Associate, as resident
actor from 1996 – 1999, and
one of the project directors
of PtT & YCP
in 2004 & 2005. Susanne
received her MFA in directing
from UNLV and was recently
the Education and Outreach
Director for Playhouse Merced,
before moving back to Monterey County. Susanne
directed several 2007 projects,
including YC production of
A Thousand Cranes, and The
Hostage in TWS’ REP
Studio Theater. Other
directing credits include:
The Underpants, Fuddy Meers,
Floyd Collins, Annie Get Your
Gun, and Oedipus Rex at the
International Theatre Festival
in Delphi Greece as
Assistant Director to Literature
Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka.
Donna
Federico is
a long-time director for
Young Company and TWS resident
staff member. Donna received
her MFA in acting and immediately
joined TWS. During her
tenure here, she has served
as resident actor and the
Hair & Makeup
designer for countless shows. Donna
is proud to have directed
YCP titles such as Jugger’s Rain, Liza and
the Riddling Cave, The
Code Breaker, The Witch
of Blackbird Pond, The
Curate Shakespeare As
You Like It,
and many, many summer projects
like Canteen,
The Andersen Project, For
the Love of Arlen, Voices
of Poetry and When
Children Ruled the World.
Robin
McKee-Williams is
Young
Company’s
musical
director
for
summer
YCP
projects
and
singing
teacher
for
YOU*THeater Camp. Her
training
includes
the
Royal
Conservatory
of
Music, Stanford University, San
Jose State University,
and
certification
as
a
voice
specialist
by
the
McCloskey
Institute
of
Boston. She
is
working
on
a
doctorate
in
music
from Boston University. Robin is
one
of
three
certified
McCloskey
specialists
on
the
West
Coast,
and
the
only
one
in California,
and
her
incredible
understanding
of
the
physiology
of
the
human
vocal
mechanisms
give
students
strong
and
healthy
techniques
for
the
voice.
This
is
a
very
different
and
most
efficient
approach
to
releasing
your
vocal
potential.
Robin’s
private
studio
students
and
clients
come
from
all
over
the
U.S.,
and
she
is
offering
her
skills
to
us!
