TYPE:	A musical in two acts
SYNOPSIS:	Based on the true story of the von Trapp family living in Austria in 1938. Georg von Trapp, a mourning widower, is a retired navy captain who runs his family with strict authority until Maria, a "doubtful postulant" from the nearby Nonnberg Abbey temporarily joins the von Trapp household as a governess to the seven children. Then things begin to change. The rise of Nazism pervades the otherwise peaceful atmosphere of this beautiful setting, the Austrian Alpine Mountains.
